The modules of this course are divided into different stages of the lifespan:
Choose one stage which has been particularly interesting for you to explore personally. Explain why.
Early-Mid Adulthood was the most interesting stage for me to explore, having done so in both assignments I found the topics very eye opening and new (I studied a lot of Adolescent and younger stages in high school psychology so have learned a lot of these theories before). It is also the stage that I am currently in and also the next stage I am headed towards so understanding myself with relation to the theories we learned is very fulfilling
.
For me, it was early to mid adulthood because I am currently going through this stage and can see the connection to some of the major theories in the course. I felt more understood and engaged in this life stage.
I loved learning about it all!!! Attachment theory I love and childhood.
Infancy and childhood were the most interesting for me as the developing foundation of humans; physically, mentally, socially and emotionally and how what happens during these stages is so instrumental to shaping who we become.
I enjoyed learning about early-mid adulthood, it was the stage I used for my assignment. I learnt more about the cognitive development at this stage which helped me undertsand myself in more detail through this period.
i enjoy learning about infancy and different attachment styles and how that affects us later in life
Looking back on adolescence has been interesting for me, I had not closely reflected on this stage and how important and relevant it was for my development.
Early - Mid Adulthood was my portfolio stage. The more I learn on this course, the more I learn about myself. If only I knew then what I know now, I would have changed a few things.
Particularly enjoyed the late adulthood module because I can relate.
I settled on the Childhood stage for my portfolio after a bit of deliberation as I felt the alternative I had in mind may have been a bit deep to visit at this stage in my training. In hindsight I am glad I chose this stage as I learned so much about myself & why I am the way I am. There were so many a-ha moments, particularly around attachment styles, and how the choices my adults made had such significant impacts on me but am now more aware that these were out of my control. It was surprising to me that many of my good childhood memories involved my older sister as we aren't overly close as adults due in part to a significant age gap.
I actually found the late adulthood readings and discussions fascinating. I did my portfolio on early-mid adulthood as this is the stage I grew in the most and is probably the most relevant to me now. But I found the late adulthood stage exciting to look, think and talk about. I love a good plan so maybe that's why I enjoyed it, planning for my later life fun and games.
I found early to mid adulthood the most interesting simply because those are the stages that I'm closest to myself. These two stages are the ones that I have the clearest memory of and I can consider the "me" that is taking the course.
Early adulthood. I was unaware what an impact all my choice in my early twenties impacted my life still to this day.
Although I am really interested in Pre natal- childhood development, specifically adolescence has been particularly interesting as through my research for my portfolio, I have discovered deeper reasons to why adolescents, and I, acted the way I did, and how significant events shaped me. It has given me a wider awareness on approaches to working alongside adolescents in future.
Adolescence because I never understood teenagers and with that myself in that stage - it makes more sense now.
Infancy - I've though about and spoken about attachment theory many time since first hearing about this from Cath. It's such a huge milestone that can have significant positive and negative impact on people throughout their lives.
Definitely mid-adulthood because I can really relate to it.

Infancy and childhood were extremely interesting because of how much everything actually does matter. Quite astonishing and daunting
